The works published on this CD were composed by the two Gárdonyis, father and son, over a period spanning more than 70 years, from 1943 to 2018. Though these sacred and secular compositions representing two generations are stylistically diverse, they reflect a significant conviction shared by both composers that the source of artistic creativity is not from the hand of man. Music is not invented, but is discovered as an ever amazing gift which is to be shared with others through both written and performed forms. Based on my personal experience, creative ideas flow through the inner world of the composer himself. The CD was made in cooperation with Bayerischen Rundfunk.
