CANTABILE REGENSBURG
Cantabile Regensburg performs a cappella music from the Renaissance to the Modern era according to the stylistic conventions specific to each musical epoch. Cantabile has gained wide critical acclaim due to its homogeneous and bright sound.

Numerous awards collected at renowned national and international choir competitions document the ensemble's high standard. In 2009, Cantabile Regensburg received the accolade outstanding at the Bavarian Choir Competition. In 2010, they achieved an excellent result at the German Choir Competition in Dortmund. One year later, the vocal ensemble was rated internationally good at the 12th International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf (Germany). In 2013, the choir was again labeled outstanding at the Bavarian Choir Competition in Munich. In 2014, the jurors of the German Choir Competition in Weimar honored Cantabile with an award.

Cantabile Regensburg participates regularly in diverse regional and national concert series including: Stuttgarter Stiftsmusik, Max Reger Tage Weiden, Passauer Konzertwinter, Musiksommer Obermain, Ars Musica Aub, Musica Sacra Grafenrheinfeld, concerts in the basilica Waldsassen and in the monastery of Münsterschwarzach.

Cantabile Regensburg has been conducted by Matthias Beckert since 2002. Since then contemporary choir literature has earned a high significance. The choir has recently focused on numerous CD productions and produced first recordings of choir pieces by contemporary composers such as Heinz Werner Zimmermann and Wolfram Buchenberg. The three most recent recordings were co-produced with the "Bayerischer Rundfunk" radio company and attest to the high musical level the choir has reached.

Cantabile Regensburg and Matthias Beckert earned the highest honor from the Bavarian Choral Association, "Bayerischer Sängerbund": The Orlando di Lasso medallion for excellent performing was given to the ensemble.
